Blogging for Beginners: 10 Tips on Blogging

I really like to write. I’m not quite sure when I realized that I did. Maybe it started way back when I was in school.

Anyway, if you are looking for a really good way to make some extra money online, blogging is a good place to start.

There are some really good opportunities for bloggers or writers online.

One of the best ways to make some extra cash online is through affiliate marketing. Network marketing online is also another very good way.

The common denominator for all money-making opportunities online is an online presence. In other words, you need a blog or at least a website to begin to allow the world and your potential subscribers and clients to see what it is that you have to offer.

I’ve compiled a few quick tips on blogging if you are just starting out.

  1. Keep it simple:

Do not make anything about your blogging or your online presence any more complicated than it needs to be. People get bogged down in the design of the blog and the mechanics of the whole thing.

All you need to start is a blog with a clean design that is user-friendly. In other words, it should be easy to navigate. You cannot have this with complex designs and flashing banners and ads all over the place. Remember to create a nice, friendly, inviting design for your readers, potential subscribers, and partners! If you are thinking of starting a blog, you’ll be needing a web hosting provider that can provide you space in the online world.

  1. Choose a topic/topics that you are passionate about:

I cannot stress this enough. You may not like to write. However, you now have a ready-made blog with a simple design and one that would provide users with a great reading experience. Now the rest is up to you!

What are you going to write about that will make people want to read what you have to say whenever you post?

Are there any topics that you are passionate about? If so, what are they and how can you bring them to life on your blog?

What hype or frenzy can you create on your blog about a subject that you are passionate about?

Once you are passionate about a topic, your readers will be too!

Apart from that, just blog about anything exciting or frightening or scary or whatever else that happened in your life on that day!

Blog about something that is powerful to you and would be powerful to your readers. You are unique, so let that uniqueness shine through and share it with your readers!

  1. Blog daily:

Even if you are new to blogging you have heard that content is king. Well, think about it, if there is nothing on your blog or website to read, then why would people come to your site and want to keep coming back?

Keep your blog updated daily or as often as possible with fresh content that keeps people coming back. Not only that but it has been said that Google loves fresh content. I would imagine that other search engines love fresh content to give them what they want!

  1. Provide your content in various ways:

There is absolutely no rule saying that all of your content has to be written/typed. I like writing as I said so I do not mind, writing 500-800 word posts every day ain’t a big deal for me.

If you prefer to add a video, or a podcast do that! Those are just two ways in which your content can be different!

Try to come up with new and exciting ways to vary the type of content that you offer your readers and partners!

Innovation is what drives business, so get creative and innovate!

  1. Write headlines that capture the interest:

Enough said…

  1. Speak to your audience:

Think of blogging as a way for you to connect with people. So you write posts or create posts (videos, etc.) that speak to people.

You are not writing to walls or to the air. They are real people behind a computer screen listening, well reading whatever it is that you are sharing, so talk to them! They won’t bite. Have a look at the comparison of 2 best web hosting providers in the market – Bluehost vs Hostinger.

  1. Think like a reader or a potential customer:

What problems might your readers want to be solved? Identify the problems and write solutions to those problems in your posts.

  1. Enable blog commenting and respond to comments made:

The comments section of a blog is another chance for you to connect to your readers. They may have questions or observations about a post that you have just written. It is your opportunity to make a connection to them by answering their queries and by engaging readers.

It is an excellent time to receive feedback as well on what readers would like to read more of on your blog!

  1. Tell people about your blog:

The next step, now that you have such a beautiful blog is to share this blog with others. Leave links back to your blog on your email signature, Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, Pinterest, Youtube, etc. wherever on social media you are, that’s where you leave your link. Eventually, you’ll realize which of these sources bring you the best traffic i.e. more readers!

  1. Never give up on your blogging:

Like I have said before, it’s not easy to make an income online but it’s pretty simple! You cannot get impatient with your blog or website. When you set up a blog, treat it like what it is, a business. You will get out of your business what you put into it!

Blog consistently, even when it seems like no one is reading it. Keep tweaking your strategy until you get it right. Each blog/website is different. Just keep blogging and Never give up on your business!
