Adhesives are substances used for sticking objects together like glue is used. Even though they have one primary purpose, they are used in many industries and are categorized based on the specific functions and qualities they are made up of. For electronics, automotive, and acoustics, for example, many adhesives are used. Here we will shortly tell you about these adhesives, their purpose, and distinguishable qualities.
Noise Proof Adhesives
Often known as sound damping adhesives, their application removes or eliminates vibrations caused by high frequency in many electronic products. These vibrations, therefore, can be very loud and uncomfortable. These are pressure-sensitive and highly elastic adhesives that alter the frequency and reduce the vibrations caused by them. Soundproof adhesives, however, work in a different way.
These are made up of soft and porous materials like foam that absorb sound and prevent sound waves from reflecting back into open spaces.
Automotive Adhesives
There are a lot of components and parts involved in the manufacture of automotive vehicles. This is because motor vehicles are highly complex and a lot of labor is involved in making them solid and efficient. Sealing electrical components, sensors, switches, and bonding electrical motors all make use of these adhesives. The two basic types used are epoxy and anaerobic. Epoxy adhesives consist of the chemical substance, Epichlorohydrin, which makes them very strong and produces resins; a hard coating after curing, making them highly resistant to different weather conditions.
On the other hand, Anaerobic adhesives are used to tighten and seal gaskets and are highly resistant to substances such as fuels and oils.
Light Blocking Adhesives
Some products need to have minimized UV and light rays to function properly and effectively. They are used on many substrates, and filtering and blocking UV light is essential in many areas, such as in healthcare industries. The use of black light units (BLU) in electronic devices makes use of these light-blocking adhesives. The BLU Adhesive is used specifically for this purpose and is easy to apply, having light blocking properties ensuring the highest quality standards.
Electronics Adhesives
Lastly, one of the most commonly used everyday tapes or adhesives. It is electronic adhesives used for multiple purposes from insulation, color coding, and even non-electrical purposes such as home decoration and labeling. They are made of PVC and so are highly stretchable, solid, and resistant. They too many different weather conditions such as cold and humidity.
